For those familiar with Fifth Gear, it's a welcomed alternative if you have burnt yourself out from watching 12 hours straight of Top Gear on torrents and BBC America reruns. The show is hosted by former TG presenters Tiff Needell and Vicki Butler-Hender
In an effort to gain some viewership, Top Gear America has teamed up with NASCAR to rename the May 28 Nationwide Series race at Charlotte Motor Speedway the Top Gear 300. To tease season two of the American spinoff of the so-far superior English car show, clips from Top Gear America will be broadcast during the race.

Pinch us. Could it be that our dreams – which, incidentally, we proudly share with Sandra Bullock – of watching Top Gear in High Definition may soon come true? It certainly seems like a real possibility now that BBC America officially launched its HD programming on Monday, July 20 at 6am. Since it can't be seen yet on any cable or satellite service, we're guessing it's still in beta testing
We have been following Top Gear America's Project Sipster for a while. The team's project was to install a modern ciesel engine from a VW Jetta TDI into a 28-year-old VW Golf and make the car go from 0 to 60 mph in less than 7 seconds but also able to achieve 70 mpg. Oh, and do it for less than $7,000.
