Nissan is throwing another multi-day overlanding bash ahead of the Overland Expo West in Flagstaff, Arizona, this week. Last year, the carmaker debuted the Titan Project Basecamp overlanding pickup at the expo. This year — even though Nissan's event is called "Titan Adventure" — Nissan went with a survivalist SUV called the Armada Mountain Patrol. Other than the fact that you're more likely to see a feral Martha Stewart in the deep woods eating canned rations before you'd see a bugge
Last year at SEMA, we saw a fairly radical Chevy Colorado ZR2 concept from American Expedition Vehicles (AEV). The already capable pickup had been fitted with a ton of gear for serious off-roading, including an upgraded suspension, 35-inch BFGoodrich Mud-Terrain tires, skid plates, a snorkel and a winch. We were in love. Then Chevrolet trademarked the "ZR2 Bison" name (AEV uses a bison in its logo), which had us hoping for a production version of the SEMA concept. Now, our spy shooters have caug
Nissan is following up on last-year's expedition-ready Titan Basecamp pickup with yet another expedition-ready vehicle. This time the company is going with its Nissan Patrol full-size SUV and it looks pretty sweet. That lead to a whole lot of accusations and rebuttals: more than one website and Chrysler's own blog reported that the Jeep was overloaded; Chrysler said Teknikens printed the magazine then let Chrysler respond, Teknikens answered all of the charges in
The Jeep Grand Cherokee has proven to be a rock-solid off-road-capable SUV with a dose of civility on public roads. But while the top Jeep has a terrific reputation and a long list of accolades, at least one model apparently didn't have the chops for the Teknikens Moose (or Elk) test over in Sweden.
