Honda is shifting production of the European CR-V to Canada for the next model of the crossover. With newly open capacity at the automaker's plant in Swindon, England, the site is slated to become a global manufacturing hub for the future Civic five-door.
Honda is reportedly prepping a new CR-Z and plans to offer some serious performance this time. In place of the hybrid in the US, it might get a detuned version of the 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder from the Civic Type R and ride on the next-gen Civic platform.
The latest Honda Civic Type R being unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show is a 306-horsepower, turbocharged hot hatch that is capable of lapping the Nordschleife in 7:50. At least for now, it remains exclusive to European buyers.

Honda plans to release the next-gen Civic Type R some time in 2015, but until then the automaker continues to test it. The latest battery of evaluations is cold weather testing in Sweden.
