It may not be an electric-vehicle junkie's version of "War and Peace," but it's pretty close.

The inaugural meeting of the American National Standards Institute's (ANSI) recently formed Electric Vehicles Standards Panel (EVSP) will take place on June 20–21, 2011 in the Motor City (that's Detroit, MI for the uninformed). The goal of the meeting is to initiate work on a standardization roadmap for the deployment of plug-in vehicles in the U.S. ANSI says its year-end target is to finalize one version of this roadmap.

To facilitate the mass deployment of plug-in vehicles while ensuring that supporting infrastructure is compatible and effective, the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) has formed the Electric Vehicles Standards Panel (EVSP).
