Le Mans. Grand Prix. Senna. Even Days of Thunder. Legendary racing films all, but our list is preparing to grow by one more epic saga played out on the silver screen.
With the Senna biopic now streaming to television sets everywhere, reports are coming in that another film is undergoing production that focuses on Niki Lauda.
Fresh from his back-to-back Oscar nominations for The Hurt Locker and The Town, actor Jeremy Renner (pictured at right at the Spirit Awards) has got his plate full with an endless stream of new projects. He's just finished filming the fourth Mission: Impossible movie, is currently filming a Hansel & Gretel movie before he stars in The Avengers and possibly the next Bourne movie as well. But a new film in its embryonic stage is arguably of the greatest interest to car nuts.
It's been almost two years since the rumors first arose and were subsequently put to rest, but they're back again. Following earlier reports that Brad Pitt was set to reprise the legendary Steve McQueen's role in the timeless classic film Bullitt, new reports have now emerged saying that Pitt has been contracted to play the beloved actor/racer in an upcoming biographical film of McQueen's life.
