Don't expect this wagon to come to the States

We'd love to tell you that the pretty blue wagon just above is coming soon to the United States, but we can't. Because the next-generation Audi A6 Avant probably isn't coming to the United States at all. Here in the States we get the seductively attractive A5 and S5 Sportback, and the swoopy A7, S7, and RS 7 hatchbacks instead of the traditional A6 wagon. We're not going to complain (much), because we do love the aforementioned Audis, but we'll still grumble just a little bit over the lost pract

The Audi A6 remains a solidly luxurious choice in the deeply competitive executive sedan segment, duking it out with the Mercedes-Benz E-Class, BMW 5 Series and Lexus GS, among others. Having been on sale since 2011, though, it's starting to become just a tiny bit stale. Cue the refresh.

Good things, they say, come in threes. If that's the case, for fans of rugged-looking Audi wagons, this must be a good week indeed. Not only did Audi unveil the Q3 Vail concept in Detroit (while confirming the arrival of the production Q3 in the US market), but the new A4 Allroad also made its debut at the show. And now the German automaker has released the new A6 Allroad Quattro.

The return of the Audi Allroad is nigh... possibly! Rumors have been swirling like camouflage that Audi is working on a new A4 Allroad. Our spy photographers spotted a camo-covered Allroad undergoing hot weather testing in Southern Europe, but the up-rated wagon underneath these swirls is an A6 Avant.
