Perhaps it's merely the era, perhaps it's the shapes of modern cars, but you just don't see large numbers of sports cars and supercars drenched in wildly luminous colors anymore – the Lamborghini Gallardo maybe the only exception. A sky blue Porsche 911 or a dandelion Ferrari were once nothing special; now a white Ferrari is avant-garde.
The new-for-2012 BMW 650i Convertible is still bigger and heavier than most of the competition, but there are still a whole slew of notable new features about the updated car. Designers filed off some of the more audacious curves in favor of a bit more subtlety. Power from the 650i's twin-turbocharged 4.4-liter V8 now sits at 400 horsepower and 450 pound-feet of torque – up 40 hp and a whopping 90 lb-ft from the last-gen 6 Series – and the six-speed gearbox has been replaced with a s

The BMW 6 Series Cabriolet is in the latter stages of pre-reveal testing, but has only now been caught in spy shots with its top down. The car's cloth-top lines are the same as on the current generation, slightly arched on top and running down into buttresses on either side of the vertical rear window that also serves as a wind deflector.
