Chrysler brand chief Al Gardner told Edmunds that the number one complaint among Chrysler 300 buyers concerning the second-generation 2011-2014 model was that Chrysler downsized the grille. Owners clamored for a return to the attention-getting face of the car launched in 2005.

"The best Chrysler sedan we've seen in decades," says Consumer Reports, in reference to the 2011 Chrysler 300. At the risk of damning a very fine car with faint praise, that may not be all that much of an accomplishment. And we'd have to add that the last all-new Chrysler 300, which hit the market in model-year 2005, was also the best Chrysler sedan the world had seen in decades.
Drive, starring Ryan Gosling, looks like it will rank among 2011's most car-guy-friendly (albeit cheesy) movies. Gosling's character is named, simply, "Driver," and his sole job is to -- you guessed it -- drive. And drive he does, out-maneuvering a Chrysler 300 in a jet-black Ford Mustang GT in one of the action sequences.
Chrysler is kicking up its "Imported From Detroit" marketing campaign with a new logo featuring the Detroit Fist – a downtown monument to Joe Louis – surrounded by the Chrysler wings.
The average age of those who buy new Chryslers? Sixty-two. That's not good for a brand that's looking to expand into new markets and thereby increase sales. Invariably, such a strategy means younger buyers will need to be lured into the showroom.
