    McLaren has hyped its plug-in hybrid P1 supercar since long before the production version was unveiled at this year's Geneva Motor Show, and apparently all the hype has paid off. Top Gear reports that, shortly after its release, all 375 P1s are "accounted for," meaning they've been bought or secured with a deposit.     The long march from concept to production vehicle is reaching the home stretch for the surely impressive McLaren P1 supercar. McLaren has dropped a very cool gallery of images on its official Facebook page, showing the P1 production floor in its meticulously sparkling operation. The old line about a floor being clean enough to eat off of looks to be literally true in this 'factory.'

    The crew at Jay Leno's Garage have been pretty busy this week. Besides getting some face time with General Motors' Ed Welburn and the Cadillac Elmiraj Concept, the funny man and his film crew managed to make off with the new Porsche 918 Spyder. Now, Jay and his team are in the UK to drive the new P1, visiting the McLaren Technical Center in Woking and heading out to the Top Gear test track at Dunsfold Aerodrome.

    As we wait for the McLaren P1 to enter production, it appears there are still some growing pains with the $1.14-million hybrid supercar. While on display at Italy's recent Villa d'Este Concorso d'Eleganza, this P1 – which appears to be the same one we saw at the Geneva Motor Show – failed to awaken from its slumber when called upon. As there is no escaping from cameras these days, you'll be unsurprised to learn that at least one attentive attendee captured it all on video.

    We know the McLaren P1 is pretty much ready to fly into lucky US owners' underground bunkers by the latter part of fall 2013. We should get a go at an early production version by late June, we are told, and as you would imagine, we can't wait. The running number on the price for the United States remains pegged at $1.15 million.

    Now that McLaren is a proper automaker, it's automatic that auto journalists will inquire about future product. That's how we've come to learn that the McLaren P1 will have a successor – but not until a decade from now.

    Even though McLaren will only be building 375 examples of its new P1 hybrid supercar, it has to make sure the high-performance coupes are ready for just about any weather conditions. For its cold-weather testing, McLaren headed to the Arctic Circle to put the P1 through its paces, which also provided a perfect opportunity for some good photos and video.
