    New-Years resolutions are great, but for the 10 vehicles on this list, we have a feeling the automakers responsible would be happy if everything stayed just the same in 2015 as it was in the year that just ended.

    These 10 slides represent the best-selling cars and trucks in the United States in 2014. You'll see plenty of familiar faces on this list, but even the top sales performer in America didn't make it through 2014 without a few aches and pains.

    2014 Ford Fusion

    2014 Sales: 306,860 (+3.9 percent)

    The Ford Fusion is an expressive and efficient top choice among midsize sedans.

    The Fusion is available in three trim levels, the S, SE, and Titanium; offers three engines, as well as front-wheel or all-wheel drive, the Fusion has something for everyone. The powerteams are a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine with a six-speed automatic transmission, a turbo 2.0-liter EcoBoost four-cylinder with a six-speed automatic, or a turbo 1.6-liter EcoBoost with a six-speed manual transmission. Safety features include anti-lock brakes with panic brake assist, AdvanceTrac electronic stability and traction control, LED taillights, security system, eight-airbags, and a tire pressure monitoring system.

    After a complete redesign for 2013, the Fusion rolls into 2014 with some paint color changes and three new options: rear inflatable seat belts, heated steering wheel and cooled seats. A 1.5-liter EcoBoost will be available later in the model year.

    The Honda Civic, a perennial favorite due to its affordability, fuel economy and reliability, has been selling well and posted a strong month. Available in sedan or coupe bodies, all but the Si and Natural Gas trims are powered by a 143 horsepower, 1.8-liter inline four-cylinder with a standard five-speed manual transmission and optional Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT). The performance-oriented Si comes with a 205 horsepower 2.4-liter inline-four bolted only to a six-speed manual, while the Natural Gas model is powered by a dedicated natural gas version of the 1.8-liter gas engine and the new CVT.

    The mighty Ford F-Series pickup truck has been the best-selling vehicle in America for 38 straight years. So it's no surprise to see it back on the top of the list in 2014.

    But it wasn't all good news for Ford's pickup in 2014. Sales were down 1.3 percent last year, much of which is due to a brand-new version of the F-150 coming in 2015. Still, the F-Series racked up 753,851 total sales, which equals an astounding 2,065.3 sales per day, every day, all year.

    The F-150 was slightly refreshed in 2013, adding some new features and tweaking the exterior. The F-150 is available in several distinctive trims. These include the XL, STX, XLT, FX, Lariat, King Ranch, Platinum and the Limited. For the off-road extremist, the segment exclusive SVT Raptor is available and delivers both outstanding off-road capabilities and daily use characteristics.
