At no point during our recent drive of the 2013 Mercedes-Benz SL65 AMG did we ever think, "You know, this thing sure is slow." After all, Merc's range-topping SL comes fitted with a twin-turbocharged 6.0-liter V12 capable of sending 621 horsepower and 738 pound-feet of torque to the rear wheels. But just in case you're still all "meh" abou
Despite having a media center that's plagued with bad coffee and prone to the occasional journalist fight, the New York Auto Show is one of our favorite automotive expos. It's not an all-out automotive blitzkrieg like Geneva, but the vast majority of New York debut
It takes a special type of individual to take a look at a twin-turbo V8 roadster with 530 horsepower like the new Mercedes-Benz SL63 AMG and say, "Nope, that's not enough." And for just such an individual, Mercedes now presents the new SL65 AMG.
How do you make a 4,300-pound roadster accelerate to 60 miles per hour in under four seconds? Easy, just fit it with a twin-turbocharged 6.0-liter V12 that cranks out 621 horsepower and – wait for it – 738 pound-feet of torque. Sounds bonkers, right? Welcome to the 2013 Mercedes-Benz SL65 AMG.

Of all the car shows around the calendar year, the Boca Raton Concours d'Elegance doesn't typically fall on our radar screen. But maybe it should, because the annual event in Florida – young as it is – has a history of offering firsts. According to the plaintiffs, premature internal wear occurs because the engine uses cast nodular iron camshafts and 9310-grade steel valves. Something about that combination causes early failure, either due to improper offset of the components or inadequate heat treating. The plaintiffs also allege th
It's been a while since we've heard anything about the Mercedes-Benz SL-Class. That could be because the current model dates back to 2003, undergoing the facelift we know today back in 2008. But now we've got news, and it's a mixed bag of good and bad.
