Such was the case for the 2018 Ford Mustang, which, three years removed from the biggest update ever made to a Mustang (independent rear suspension, finally!), received a restyling to keep it looking fresh. The results felt controversial at first blush, but as reality set in and we've started seeing the stallions in the wild, it now seems like a natural progression of the pony car.

With less than a month to go before the official unveiling, it appears that the 2019 Aston Martin DBS Superleggera has been spied in Volante convertible form. The car is very clearly related to the DB11 GT sports car currently available, but with a number of updates. It should also be lighter (hence the Superleggera name) and more powerful.
In the Mercedes-AMG GT line, most body styles feature three or more levels of sportiness. The coupe is available in GT, GT S, GT C and GT R, and the sedan is available in 53 GT, 63 GT, and 63 GT S. Time is nearly up for the outgoing Aston Martin Vantage coupe and convertible now that the new model has been released, but thanks to one fan of the car, it's going out in style. The company has created a special version of the Aston Martin V12 Vantage called the V600 at the request of a customer, and it will build just 14 of them, seven in each body style.

It's official, Lamborghini CEO Stefano Domenicali confirmed to Top Gear magazine that the next-generation Aventador and Huracán will get plug-in hybrid powertrains. As charming and cute as classic Volkswagen Beetles are, there's no getting around the fact that they're not especially sleek, nor are fast. At all. That is with the exception of this, the Memminger Roadster 2.7. It's a custom Bug built by a German restoration shop called Memminger. It's low, it has extremely wide, pumped up fenders, and has been turned into a two-seat roadster. It almost looks like a Porsche 356, but bigger. And check out those sweet plaid seats.

The weather must be getting nice in Germany, because BMW is testing Z4 prototypes at the Nürburgring with the top down. Using a video game as a feeder racing series is nothing new. Sony and Nissan have run the GT Academy for years now, rewarding the best Gran Turismo players with the chance to drive a real car. It seems Mazda wants a piece of the action. This year, it will host an iRacing Hot Lap Challenge, giving the best players a trip to the 2019 Rolex 24 at Daytona. McLaren's MSO custom division seems to stay quite busy. Every few months they seem to have a new special configuration to offer buyers. Sometimes they're a bit silly or unimpressive, but other times they create something really unique and cool. This McLaren 570S Spider falls into the latter category. Toyota's FJ Cruiser SUV ticked off most of the boxes the original FJ40 Land Cruiser did.
