The Volkswagen Golf SportWagen replaces the Jetta SportWagen as the least expensive German wagon in the North American market. The FWD and AWD Golf SportWagen is powered by on of two engines, a 147-hp 1.4-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine mated a six-speed manual or an eight-speed automatic transmission or a 168-hp 1.8-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine mated a six-speed manual or automatic transmission. Trim specific standard equipment includes 15- 16- or 17-inch aluminum wheels, heated mirrors, a power sunroof, LED daytime running lights, an Adaptive Front Lighting System, heated front seats, SiriusXM HD satellite radio, Bluetooth and an 8-inch touchscreen display. Safety features such as six airbags, a rear view camera, distance pacing cruise control with traffic stop-go, a Lane Keeping System (Lane Assist), a Blind Spot Monitor, Front Assist w/Autonomous Emergency Braking, Rear Traffic Alert and Pedestrian Monitoring are available. The Golf SportWagen gets changes to the engines and transmissions for 2019 but otherwise carries over with minimal changes.
