Subaru XV Crosstrek Owner Reviews (2)
I rented this car from Enterprise for a very long 3 weeks after totaling my fast Mazda6. It is slow, the gauges suck, the fuel tank gauge did not respond until after I had driven almost a mile, shut the car off twice. It was a real drag to drive it & had a LOT of drag. I drove 45 miles to Salem and it never once when into electric mode on the highway. It only enters electric mode at stop signs or while coasting toward a stop. It is positively useless. The on-dash radio was the best part of car.

I purchased a Crosstrek about 6 months ago to replace my Mercedes C230 sport, which gave a less than satisfactory ride, coupled with poor bad weather performance. I am nothing less than completely satisfied with this vehicle, which, while lacking in some of the "new gen" electronic gizmos, delivers on driving comfort, road view, and performance. The highway fuel economy is better than advertised, coming in at 33 MPG. The 4 cyl Porsche engine is a bit underpowered for the vehicle, but the trade off for the fuel economy is worth it. Standard creature comforts are remote start, heated seats, etc. It would be nice to have keyless entry and start, but you can't have everything..especially for the base price. There's a reason Subaru is loved by owners, who constitute a serious niche market! I'd buy another when the time comes.
