2020 Toyota Tacoma

2020 Tacoma Photos
The midsize truck segment is experiencing a renaissance. Some players are being enhanced, others are being introduced, while others are being resurrected from the dead. The 2020 Toyota Tacoma would fall into the enhanced category, and despite being one of the oldest models around, it remains relevant and wildly popular due to its distinctive style, rugged off-road focus and decades of tried-and-true dependability.

For 2020, the Tacoma gets a power-adjustable seat for the first time, potentially correcting the unusually low driving position that has plagued it. The V6-powered SR5 trim and those above it come so equipped. Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and Amazon Alexa connectivity are now standard on every Tacoma, while top trim levels now have access to advanced parking and off-roading camera systems, as well as standard LED headlights. Front-end styling has also been tweaked for the 2020 Tacoma.

If you're shopping for a Tacoma, anything with "TRD" in the name represents the special ones. They look cooler and go places the other versions can't. And if you're not really interested in getting a Tacoma dirty, you might as well get a different, more comfortable, spacious and refined midsize truck. Power comes from a standard 2.7-liter four-cylinder engine (159 horsepower), but you'd be wise to get the 3.5-liter V6 that produces 278 hp and 265 lb-ft of torque. When equipped with the V6 Tow package, the Tacoma is good for 6,800 pounds. Like other midsize trucks, there are extended (Access Cab) and crew (Double Cab) cab body styles, but neither are particularly spacious relative competitors. The Double Cab can be paired with a short or long bed, though, which isn't possible in some other midsize trucks.
