2020 Mercedes-Benz Metris

The Mercedes-Benz Metris offers impressive cargo capabilities with practical styling and features. A smaller alternative to the successful Sprinter, the Metris offers great capacity in a compact package and is a good fit for tight maneouvering in urban environments. The Mercedes-Benz Metris comes in two basic body styles, taking the form of either an 8-seat Passenger Van or a Cargo Van. The Cargo Van eliminates the rear side windows while increasing the maximum payload, while the Passenger Van offers three rows of seating for up to eight people. Both vans are powered by a fuel efficient 2.0L 4-cylinder turbocharged engine that makes 208 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a 7-speed automatic transmission. The Metris is capable of towing up to 5,000 pounds, with a payload of 2,500 pounds. The Metris starts out simply equipped with 17" steel wheels, manual mirrors, dual sliding rear doors, a USB and Bluetooth-equipped radio, remote keyless entry and air conditioning. Standard safety features include driver and front passenger airbags, 3-row curtain side airbags, anti-lock brakes and Mercedes' Crosswind Assist that helps keep the vehicle on track when strong side winds threaten the taller van's stability. Safety features include blind spot and lane keeping assist functions, a collision prevention assist system, an alarm and a reverse warning device. The Mercedes Metris gets a mid-cycle refresh in 2020 with a new front fascia, additional safety features and a revised interior for this year. On the safety front, an improved emergency braking system is better able to detect pedestrians, while the adaptive high beams have also been improved for 2020.
