The Mazda CX-9 has raised the bar for aesthetically pleasing and affordable SUV crossovers, with its seven seating layout, there is enough room for the whole family. Front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive is offered on all trims except the Signature trim which only comes in all-wheel drive. The CX-9 is powered by a 227-hp 2.5-liter SKYACTIV-G four-cylinder engine mated to a six-speed automatic transmission. Trim specific standard features include 18- or 20-inch aluminum wheels, power sunroof, LED headlights, daytime running lights and front fog lights, an Adaptive Front-lighting System (AFS), heated leather front seats, dual-zone automatic climate control with separate rear controls, Aha/Pandora/Stitcher internet radio, 12 Bose speakers, Bluetooth, a 9-inch touchscreen display an integrated navigation system, a HomeLink garage door transmitter, Mazda Connect Emergency SOS and Apple CarPlayAndroid Auto connectivity. Safety equipment such as 6 airbags, a rear view camera, a low tire pressure warning system, a forward collision mitigation system, a rear collision warning system, Mazda Radar Cruise Control (MRCC), Blind Spot Monitoring (BSM) and Pedestrian detection are all standard while the Grand Touring and Signature trims add Active Driving Display head-up display and a 360 View Monitor. The 2020 CX-9 gets a bigger 9-inch display screen and optional second-row captain's chairs.
