The Civic Type R is the most powerful Honda and first Type R to be sold in North America. The five-door hatchback is the fifth generation of the Civic Type R but has always been forbidden fruit here until now. The Type R is powered by a 306-hp 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine mated to a six-speed manual transmission with rev-matching and a helical limited slip differential in order to get all that power to the ground via the front wheels. Standard features include 20-inch aluminum wheels with summer tires, cross-drilled Brembo front brakes, an Adaptive Damper System, high-flow exhaust with three center mounted outlets, sport seats, a 540-watt 12-speaker audio system, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, 7-inch touchscreen, navigation system and much more. The Civic Type R is unchanged for 2019.
