2018 Mercedes-Benz SLC 300

The SLC is the baby roadster in the Mercedes-Benz line-up. Currently in its third generation, it was the first 2-seater on the market with a retractable folding hardtop, the benefit being coupe-like security The SLC 300 is equipped with a 241-hp 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine, while the AMG SLC 43 is powered by a 362-hp 3.0-liter biturbo V-6. Both engines are mated to a nine-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters. Model-dependent standard equipment includes: a sport-tuned suspension, panoramic sunroof, adaptive headlights with auto high-beam assist, LED daytime running lights, 18-inch aluminum wheels, heated front seats, leather upholstery, dual-zone climate control, AIRSCARF neck-level heating, and passive entry/start. Infotainment features include HD/satellite radio, Bluetooth wireless connectivity/audio streaming, USB port and a 7-inch color LCD display; smartphone integration and voice-activated navigation are also offered. SLC-Class safety features include 4-wheel anti-lock disc brakes with brake assist, stability/traction control systems, a rearview camera and eight airbags, along with Mercedes' ATTENTION ASSIST drowsiness detection and Active Brake Assist. Other available technologies include the PRE-SAFE occupant protection system, Blind Spot Assist, and Lane Keeping Assist. Following a refresh last year, the Mercedes-Benz SLC carries over with minimal changes for 2018.
