Base 2dr Rear-wheel Drive Coupe
2016 BMW M2

The M2 is the newest member of the M family, and is the follow-up to the limited edition 1 M Coupe from 2011. The M2 is based on the 2-series platform but is easily distinguished by its larger fenders and aggressive front fascia. The M2 coupe is powered by a twin-scroll turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-six cylinder engine that produces 365 horsepower and 343 lb-ft of torque. All that power is driven through the rear wheels via two different transmissions, either a six-speed manual or a seven-speed double-clutch, and an Active M differential. High-performance anti-lock brakes with compound cross-drilled discs work with electronic stability control, staggered 19-inch forged aluminum wheels and M sport suspension to keep things under control. Standard features include satellite radio with a 12 month trial, adaptive Bi-Xenon headlights, auto stop-start, M exhaust with electrically controlled sound flap and launch control when equipped with the optional double-clutch transmission. An optional Executive Package adds heated steering wheel, rear park distance control, rearview camera, high-beam assistant, lane change warning and collision warning with pedestrian city braking. The M2 is all new to the BMW M line-up for 2016.
