2015 MX-5 Miata Photos
The Miata's 2.0L 4-cylinder engine comes with one of three transmission choices; a 5-speed manual, a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic. With either of the manual transmissions the engine makes 167 horsepower, equipped with the automatic it makes 158. Don't be fooled by what seem like small numbers--the MX-5's diminutive size and weight means it's still plenty fast.

The MX-5 comes in Sport, Club and Grand Touring trim. On the base Sport trim, standard features include aluminum wheels, a CD/MP3 stereo that includes an auxiliary audio jack, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, air conditioning and a tire pressure monitoring system. The Club model includes 17-inch wheels, a suspension package for manual equipped cars and unique interior detailing. Grand Touring models get heated leather seats, a Bose audio system, automatic climate control and leather cockpit trim.

The Convenience Package, a $1,080 option available on the Sport, adds cruise control, fog lamps, keyless entry, steering-wheel audio controls and a trip computer.

The Premium Package, optional on the Grand Touring model, includes Bluetooth, electronically stability control, an advanced keyless entry system, SIRIUS satellite radio and HID xenon headlamps. A high performance suspension package adds a sport-tuned suspension, Bilstein shocks and a limited-slip differential.

All Miatas are convertibles, but the Club and Grand Touring models offer an optional power-retractable hard top, ensuring year-round comfort and the 25th Anniversary edition is retractable hard top only.

In case the fun goes a bit awry, front and side-impact airbags are standard on all Miata models.
