2014 Toyota Highlander Hybrid

The Toyota Highlander Hybrid is based on the popular Highlander SUV, boasting a more environmentally-friendly gas-electric hybrid engine that delivers excellent fuel economy and lower emissions. The Highlander Hybrid enters its third generation in 2014, offering additional standard features and technologies, as well as increased cargo capacity and more refined styling inside and out. The 7-passenger Highlander Hybrid is available in an all-wheel drive configuration only, with two trim levels: Limited V6 and Limited Platinum V6. It employs an advanced Hybrid Synergy Drive system - a 3.5-liter V6 gasoline engine with a high-torque electric drive motor-generator - producing 280 net horsepower and mated to an electronically-controlled continuously variable transmission. The Limited trim is comprehensively equipped with 19-inch aluminum wheels, LED daytime running lights, power rear liftgate, power moonroof, heated/ventilated front seats, leather upholstery, three-zone automatic climate control and a Smart Key System with passive entry/push-button start. Along with HD/satellite radio, Bluetooth wireless connectivity/audio streaming and a USB port, the enhanced standard Entune media system boasts premium JBL audio with 12 JBL GreenEdge speakers, as well as Navigation and App Suite, including an 8-inch high resolution touch-screen with split screen display, voice activation, internet access and mobile device integration. The Limited Platinum adds a panoramic moonroof, heated rear seats and a heated steering wheel. Standard safety features include anti-lock disc brakes with brake assist, electronic vehicle stability and traction control systems, front side-impact airbags, a driver knee airbag, a front passenger seat cushion airbag (new for 2014) and overhead curtain airbags for all rows, along with Blind Spot Monitor, Rear Cross-Traffic Alert and rear parking sensors with integrated backup camera. A new Driver Technology Package is available for the Limited and standard on the Limited Platinum, offering Dynamic Radar Cruise Control with Pre-Collision System and Lane Departure Alert with Automatic High Beam Headlights, as well as Safety Connect (includes emergency assistance, stolen vehicle locator, roadside assistance and automatic collision notification). Hybrid-related components are backed by an 8-year/100,000 mile warranty. For 2014, the Highlander Hybrid is a complete redesign inside and out.
