LX Front-wheel Drive Passenger Van
2012 Kia Sedona
The 2012 Kia Sedona is powered by a 271-horsepower, 3.5L V6 engine, mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission with Sportmatic manual control. The Sedona's interior configuration really makes the most of the available space, with three rows of seating and space for up to seven occupants. Second-row captain's chairs are removable and the 60/40-split third-row seat folds fully into the floor to make available a flat cargo area. A 50/50-split removable third-row seat completes the seating for seven. The Sedona comes with sliding doors on both sides. The Sedona offers good acceleration, even with a full load, thanks to the torquey character of the V6 engine. Properly equipped, the Sedona can tow up to 3,500 lbs. A 4-wheel independent suspension employs MacPherson struts in front and a multi-link design in back, with stabilizer bars front and back, so it handles surprisingly well. Driver and passenger front air bags are standard, as in most cars, but so are side-impact airbags and front and rear-occupant curtain airbags. Anti-lock brakes, stability control, traction control and tire pressure monitors are also standard equipment. LX models come with 3-zone air conditioning, cruise control, keyless entry and power windows--including one in the sliding door. The EX loads on many additional features, including a roof rack, fog lamps, power-adjustable seats, adjustable pedals and a trip computer. Both models include an MP3-compatible CD sound system that also includes a USB port and Bluetooth. Leather seat trim, heated seats and adjustable pedals are optional on the EX. The Premium Entertainment Package, a $1,500 option, adds 7.1 surround sound, Infinity speakers and a DVD video system. A navigation system is available as well.
