my forte5 sx handles great (with good tires) and accelerates well. It looks good inside and out. But in east coast cities the SX suspension is awful. I bought the car to do Uber/lyft on the side and i constantly have to apologize for the harsh clunks and bangs every time the slightest pothole or cobblestone road comes along. Audi and Mazda and others make sporty suspensions that still know how to smooth out the jagged terrain of america's worst streets. Kia did not learn that yet in 2012. The leather is stiff and cheap. Oh...worst of all the mileage in a real city in this car is 15 or 16 with a/c and maybe 17/18 without a/c. I get no where close to 23 in the city. On the highway i regularly get 32 and occasionally cruise to 34 or 35. Brand new hi quality filter. Can't explain the extreme disparity. I drive a big truck that gets better city mpg than my SX. Anyway...it's a great car...but if you live in the city i recommend the EX and maybe even add half an inch to the higher profile tires. The SX is the much better car....but it's happiest on winding country roads, long stretches of highway, and squeeling down the off ramps. Oh also the traction control is worthless and causes hesitation when none is needed on a regular interval
The Forte has been a great car even with all the animals we have hit with it, 1 deer $7800 and one big ****** $2900 damage. Repair it and just keep driving. It is dependable and a nice ride for an inexpensive car. On road trips from San Antonio TX to El Paso average HWY MPG @ 80 mph is about 36/37 and get around town is about 26/27 depends on the driver.

I have 4000 miles on my new Forte. 2000 of those are long distance. 3 adults took vacation in my Forte. Seating was comfortable even for the person in the back seat. We had plenty of room for luggage and extras we carried with us. This car surprised me with the pep it has. Around town, my husband and I have to watch our speed. On the road, we are able to do speed limit (75) and more with ease. Ride is quiet and takes the bumps more better than we had expected. And the gas millage is great. I have no complaints about the Forte. The more I drive it, the more I love it.
