Bought new in 2011, lots of road noise, very cheap chassis parts. It sounds like front end falling apart when you hit a small bump. This is another low quality, cheap built vehicle. V6 4x4.

2011 has been driven now for 12 months, great riding & performance vehicle. Leasing is still a terrible problem with much to high interest being charged. Service is a problem when you need to replace a part, dealers do not stock inventory of parts, requires an extra day in service if part are needed . WOULD THINK TWICE IN FUTURE if these two problems are not fixed.
A Story of Disillusionment

Spec-wise and value-wise I was really looking forward to the 2011 Grand Cherokee Overland as a replacement to my 2000 Grand Cherokee Limited. Instead, I was REALLY disappointed at the dealership today when I saw it and drove it! I was horrified to see that the wonderful Inferno Red finish was trimmed all the way around in cheap black plastic, ugh. A $46K vehicle trimmed in black plastic, who the $%^& in the design shop thought THAT was a good idea ?! I thought maybe it could be redeemed with a test drive of its 5.7L Hemi-V8 though. Yet again I was horrified. This behemoth with a 360hp/390lb-ft powerhouse felt so *********** felt like a small V6 with bad turbo lag, awful, just awful. And it didn't help putting it into Sport mode. The only time the performance got better was when I used the manual shift-gate but even that doesn't improve off-the-line performance. My current 4.7L V8 is FAR MORE responsive. This was a very disillusioning experience. I'm wondering if the 2012s with a rumored new 6-spd AT will be improved or just as bad, guess I'll find out in a few months...
worst vehicle I have ever owned.

I owned the V-6 model Grand Cherokee. The ride was great, the looks great, power was ok, fit and finish ok, but my big problem was that the steering wheel and the floor constantly vibrated standing still or driving. My wife and everyone else who drove in the Jeep felt the vibrations and it got so bad that on one trip my left foot went numb. Jeep could not fix the problem and I ended up trading it in on a Dodge at a huge loss of money with less that 1000 miles on the vehicle. Two mechanics at two different dealerships told me off the record that Jeep needed to change the motor mounts on the Jeeps with the V-6 to dampen the vibrations of the engine. I would not recomend the Jeep Grand Cherokee with the V-6 to anyone and please before you buy one, take it for a long test drive.

I have had it about a week, tight steering, controlled ride, good brakes, good overall power from the v6, very quiet inside, excellent stereo with nav, and nice amenities. Plowed through 18 inches of snow without a slip or a problem. Cons: have not seen fuel economy over 14.5 mpg, needs more cushioning in front seats, no auto lift gate with limited without optional package, ligther steering and maybe a coin holder in center dash.
