2010 Ferrari 612 Scaglietti
Like all Ferraris, the engine is the star in the 612 Scaglietti. The 6.0L V12 has 48 valves and can churn out 540 hp and 434 lb-ft of torque through its 6-speed automated manual transmission with paddle shifters. The updated F1 "SuperFast" transmission, which is also found in the 599 GTB, is capable of shifting in a blistering 100 milliseconds. The Ferrari engine's renowned performance is matched only by its unmistakable sound. Even though the 612 is a 2+2 sports coupe, the 612 Scaglietti still turns in a 0-62 time of 4 seconds and a top speed of 199 mph. Speeds like that come at a price at the pump, however. The 612 achieves 9 mpg city and 15 mpg highway. One of the few significant additions for this model year is a glass roof that extends from windshield to rear window, so all four passengers can feel the sun on their faces. The "electrochromic" panel, as Ferrari calls it, has three tint settings, in case you'd like a little less of the open-top feel. The audio system was designed for the Scaglietti's cabin, with voice recognition and steering wheel controls. It has a 20GB hard disk for storing music, and can learn from your listening preferences and make selections for you based on tone and rhythm analysis. The drive also stores the software for the GPS navigation system.
