2008 Subaru Forester

2008 Forester Photos
The 2008 Forester rides on Subaru's excellent all-wheel drive technology and provides all the room and pace for a variety of needs. Its blend of practicality and creature comforts, along with its excellent reliability and safety, means there is a Forester for everyone.

Foresters are available five ways and come with one of two engines. The 2.5 X and Sports 2.5 X, as well as the L.L. Bean Edition, are each powered by a great-sounding 173-horsepower 2.5L flat four engine. The Sports 2.5 XT and 2.5 XT Limited come with Subaru's fantastic 224-horsepower turbocharged 2.0L flat four-cylinder. This engine will propel a Forester so equipped to 60 mph in around six seconds. All Foresters are offered with either a four-speed automatic or five-speed manual transmission except the L.L. Bean Edition, which comes with auto only.

Base 2.5 X models come standard with keyless entry, air conditioning, tilt wheel with cruise control, a split folding rear seat, fog lamps, keyless entry, a 100-watt four-speaker CD stereo, a roof rack, and power windows, locks, and mirrors. The Sports 2.5 X adds alloy wheels, a six-disc in-dash CD stereo, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, and automatic climate control. With the L.L. Bean Edition, the Forester comes equipped with all those features plus leather interior, heated front seats and outside mirrors, power sunroof, special two-tone paint, and universal garage door opener.

Sports 2.5 XT models come equipped with an STi front spoiler, sports front seats, panoramic power moonroof, a powerful seven-speaker stereo with six-disc CD changer, and 17-inch STi alloy wheels, while the 2.5 XT Limited models add eight-way power adjust for the driver's seat, multi-reflector fog lamps, leather-trimmed upholstery, and Vehicle Dynamics Control.

A $1,500 Premium Package is available, and it adds many of the amenities found in the XT models to the base 2.5 X.
