2008 F-150 SuperCrew Overview

The Ford F-150 pickup truck delivers outstanding performance with its distinct trim levels, equipment packages and its broad range of cab styles and pickup box configurations.The F-150 trims consist of the rugged and reliable XL, the sporty STX, the versatile and well equipped XLT, the durable FX4 and the luxurious Lariat. Each trim boasts its own unique styling, appearance and capabilities. Three engine choices include a 4.2-liter V6, a 4.6-liter V8 and a 5.4-liter V8 which has an available flexible fuel variant able to operate on ethanol (E85). The 4.2-liter V6 can be mated to a 5-speed manual or a 4-speed automatic transmission. Both V8's are paired with a 4-speed automatic transmission. The F-150's versatility offers 4x2 or 4x4 drive systems, three cab styles, various pickup box designs and a host of option groups and available features. When properly equipped, the F-150 can accommodate up to 6 passengers, or can tow an impressive 11,000 pounds or have a payload of 3050 pounds.For 2008, the Ford F-150 gets a SuperCrew XL trim, an available pickup box cargo management system and an optional reverse backup camera.The Milan Hybrid uses a 2.5 liter four-cylinder engine in combination with an electric motor powered by a nickel-metal hydride battery. To link the gas engine and electric motor together, a continuously variable transmission, also known as a CVT, is used to optimally match the power and gearing. Safety features include electronic stability and traction control, LED brake lights, security system, dual front and side-impact airbags, side curtain airbags, a driver's knee airbag, and a tire pressure monitoring system.The Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Hybrid provides all the power needed of a full-size truck with the fuel savings technology of GM's two-mode hybrid system.The Silverado Hybrid is offered in a Crew Cab bodystyle, in either two-wheel drive or four-wheel drive. Its 6.0-litre V8 engine includes Active Fuel Management, giving it the ability to run as an economical V4 when full power isn't needed. The Electrically Variable Transmission works with a 300-volt nickel-metal hydride battery system to allow the vehicle to launch and drive up to 30 mph on electric power alone. Other features such as electric-assist power steering and low rolling resistance tires help to provide a 25-percent improvement in overall fuel economy. Safety features include four-wheel disc anti-lock brakes, front and side curtain airbags, electronic stability control and tire pressure monitoring.For 2013, the X3 can now be ordered with the highly acclaimed N20 four-cylinder TwinPower turbocharged engine. 18-inch alloy wheels are now standard on the xDrive28i.
