Designed for the rugged outdoors the Mercedes-Benz G-Class is a luxury off-road vehicle with a military heritage. The G-Class is available with two powerteams: a 292-hp 5.0-liter V8 w/five-speed automatic in the G500, and a new for 2005 469-hp 5.5-liter supercharged V8 w/five-speed automatic in the AMG-tuned G55. Loaded with standard luxury features such as a leather interior, premium wood trim, rear parking assistance, navigation system, rain-sensing wipers, dual zone climate control, and heated power driver and passenger seats with memory, to name a few. On the safety front, Mercedes' TeleAid system is standard, along with anti-lock brakes, brake assist, electronic stability control and side-curtain airbags. For 2005, the Mercedes-Benz G-Class adds a supercharger to the G55 AMG.
