2005 Chevrolet SSR

The Chevrolet SSR is a uniquely styled retro convertible pickup truck. With looks from the 1940's and 1950's, the SSR boasts a powerful engine under the hood, the practicality of a pick up, and a new styling that turns heads. The Chevrolet SSR is powered by Chevrolet's LS2 engine, a modified 400-horsepower 5.7 liter V8, the same powerplant as the Pontiac GTO and Chevrolet Corvette. Although powerful, the heavy car is propelled from zero to sixty in only 7.7 seconds. It comes available with a six-speed Tremec manual transmission. For 2005, the SSR's engine received upgrades that pushed horsepower to 400 for automatic transmission equipped vehicles and 4.5 horsepower for manual transmissions.
