Overview

The second generation Tiguan has grown in length so as to accommodate a third row seat, which is a rare offering in the compact SUV class. The Tiguan is available with either front- or 4MOTION all-wheel drive and is powered by a 184-hp 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission with Tiptronic. Standard safety features include six airbags, automatic post-collison braking, tire pressure monitoring system, electronic stability control, rear view camera, and vehicle immobilizer. Also available is blind spot detection, forward collision braking with pedestrian monitoring, lane departure warning, rear traffic alert and surround view cameras. Other available tech and comfort features include App-Connect for Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, Bluetooth, dual-zone climate control, heated seats, leather seats, keyless access, 6.5 or 8-inch touchscreens, navigation system, adaptive cruise control, power tailgate and a 400-watt Fender audio system. For 2020, a new SE R-Line Black trim has been added, wireless smartphone charging is now available, and rear traffic alert along with Side Assist lane change alert are now standard equipment.
