Overview

The GMC Canyon offers a variety of cab styles, suspensions and powertrains that make it both versatile and practical. Available in two- or four-wheel drive, the Canyon offers two body styles: extended cab and crew cab. The extended cab has a 6-foot box, the 4x4 Crew Cab is available in either a 5- or 6-foot box while the 4x2 Crew Cab is only available with a 5-foot box. The Canyon is powered by one of three engines, a 200-hp 2.5-liter four-cylinder, a 308-hp 3.6-liter V6 or a 181-hp 2.8-liter Duramax four-cylinder diesel. Two automatic transmissions are available a six-speed automatic or an eight-speed. Trim specific standard features include 16- 17- 18- or 20-inch aluminum wheels, LED daytime running lights, front fog lights, heated front seats, leather seats, pickup box cargo light, remote locking tailgate, air conditioning, trailer sway control and 4-wheel anti-lock disc brakes. Tech features such as SiriusXM satellite radio, a GMC Infotainment System, 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot, 4 USB ports, Bluetooth, 7 Bose Speakers, an 8-inch touchscreen display and Apple CarPlay/Android Auto are standard dependent on trim. Available safety equipment includes 6 airbags, a rear view camera, low tire pressure warning, UltraSonic rear parking sensors, forward collision alert, lane departure warning and a Teen Driver restricted driving mode. Optional equipment such as an EZ-lift and Lower tailgate, remote keyless entry, remote vehicle starter system and several side step and tonneau cover options can be added. The Canyon drops the 6-foot 4x2 Crew Cab and the six-speed manual transmission for while adding a remote locking tailgate for 2020.
