Overview

The Ford Edge is a five-passenger mid-size crossover sport utility that answers the call for a roomy vehicle with appealing style, extensive features, and car-like handling. The Edge is offered in both front- and all-wheel drive configurations, with four trim levels - SE, SEL, Titanium and Sport (AWD only). Power is supplied by either a 245-hp 2.0-liter turbocharged EcoBoost four-cylinder engine, a 280-hp 3.5-liter Ti-VCT V6, or a 315-hp 2.7-liter EcoBoost V6; all are mated to a six-speed automatic transmission with manual mode and paddle shifters. Trim-dependent standard equipment includes: a hands-free power liftgate, 19- and 20-inch aluminum wheels, heated front seats, leather upholstery, dual-zone automatic climate control and Intelligent Access with push-button start, along with HD/satellite radio, smartphone integration, two USB ports, an 8-inch touchscreen display and Ford's SYNC communications and entertainment system. Safety features found on every Edge include anti-lock disc brakes with brake assist, AdvanceTrac with Roll Stability Control, traction control, MyKey parental controls and a rearview camera, as well as eight airbags. Other technologies, including a lane keeping system, Adaptive Cruise Control with collision warning and brake support, Blind Spot Information System with cross-traffic alert and inflatable rear outboard safety belts, are also offered. The Ford Edge carries over with minimal changes for 2018.
