Overview

The Volkswagen Golf is a compact German hatchback that sets the standard benchmark in a very crowded class. The seventh-generation Golf is powered by a 170-hp 1.8-liter turbocharged four-cylinder gas engine with the choice between either a five-speed manual transmission or six-speed Tiptronic automatic. Standard safety features include, anti-lock brakes, stability and traction control, head restraints at all five seating positions, rearview camera, VW Car-Net connected car service and six airbags. The Wolfsburg Edition adds Front Assist with Autonomous Emergency Braking, Blind Spot Monitor with rear traffic alert, automatic headlights and such niceties as a power sunroof, heated front seats, Kessy keyless access and rain sensing wipers. The 2017, a Wolfsburg trim as been added to the line-up and the 2-door model has been dropped.
