The Kia Optima is powered by one of thee engines, a 178-hp 1.6-liter four-cylinder mated to a seven-speed auto-shift maual transmission, a 185-hp 2.4-liter Theta II turbocharged four-cylinder paired to a six-speed automatic transmission or a 245-hp 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder matched to a six-speed automatic transmission. Trim specific standard equipment includes 16- 17- or 18-inch aluminum wheels, LED daytime running lights, heated mirrors, heated front seats, leather upholstery, dual-zone automatic climate control, SiriusXM satellite radio, a 5- 7- or 8-inch touchscreen display, HomeLink garage door transmitter, Bluetooth, and smart device connectivity. Safety features such as seven airbags, a rear view camera, a tire specific low tire pressure warning system and 4-wheel anti-lock disc brakes with brake assist and hill hold control are standard while the SXL Turbo trim adds Dynamic Bending Light (DBL) directionally adaptive headlights, High Beam Assist (HBA) auto high-beams, rear parking sensors, Lane Departure Warning System (LDWS), Advanced Smart Cruise Control, Surround View Monitor cameras, Blind Spot Detection (BSD), Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB), Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA) and an active pedestrian detection system. The Kia Optima adds Apple CarPlay/Android Auto connectivity to all trims except the LX and adds more standard safety features to the SXL Turbo trim.
