The weather must be getting nice in Germany, because BMW is testing Z4 prototypes at the Nürburgring with the top down. And we're not sure if it's the nice weather or something else, but BMW has also become more lax with interior camouflage. This particular prototype hardly had anything covered, allowing us to see the production-ready interior.

The U.S. Senate on Wednesday invalidated Obama-era guidance aimed at preventing auto lenders from charging borrowers higher rates based on factors such as race or national origin. The Senate voted 51 to 47 to disapprove the guidance, which was issued in 2013 by the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau and regarded by critics as an overstep of the agency's powers.

Chevrolet will introduce a new technology feature that will allow drivers to pay for gas at the pump from inside their vehicles without having to swipe a credit card or use their smartphone.

In addition to the all-electric Enspire crossover concept revealed this week ahead of the Beijing auto show, Buick is adding a new production variant to its Velite series of electrified vehicles for China. It's called the Velite 6, a plug-in hybrid that will launch this year in Buick's largest market, with a full-electric version, shown in the lead photo above at right, coming later.

Although it seems like we're seeing a new variant of the Porsche 911 every month, the current generation is nearing its end. The 991 debuted in 2011 with the updated 991.2 model stepping in for the 2017 model year. We've seen photos of the new 992 model for a while, but this new batch of the 911 Turbo out on the Nürburgring might give us our best look yet.

Johan de Nysschen, a longtime automotive industry executive, is out the door at Cadillac after four years at the helm of GM's flagship luxury brand. Steve Carlisle will replace de Nysschen as General Motors senior vice president and president, Cadillac. Carlisle previously served as president and managing director of GM Canada.

Last fall, Ken Block teased his next big project, a custom rally-spec Ford Escort RS Cosworth. This isn't just some 25-year-old economy car. The Escort RS Cosworth was a fully homologated rally machine. Block's is one of just a few thousand that were ever built. This isn't just some show car either. Block plans to race it in several rally series around the world. The Escort RS Cosworth will also star in "GymkhanaTEN" sometime this fall.
