There are a number of transportation devices under development deserving of the adjective, "revolutionary." There are also no shortage of vehicles bestowed with the "vaporware" descriptor. High on both of those lists rests the C-1 from Lit Motors – a self-balancing fully-enclosed electric motorcycle, with a steering wheel in place of handlebars. For both doubters and believers, however, there is no denying that this project is moving forward.

A high-speed chase involving an allegedly drunk driver ended in a rather scary crash on Highway 41 in Milwaukee, WI in the wee hours of Monday morning. The driver of the Ford Taurus, 40-year-old Kevin Hutchins, hit speeds of up to 109 miles per hour, with three police cars in pursuit.

Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Michael Vick has quite a checkered reputation on and off the football field, and he's become as notable for his activities away from the NFL as he has his performances on the gridiron. One thing he hasn't been that well-known for, however, is his interest in automobiles. That may change, however, as he's just opened a website dedicated to motor vehicles, ShowMike.com.

News is trickling out of the Serbian factory that's responsible for Fiat 500L production that work has stopped due to a delay in parts delivery. Fiat has been mum on the reasoning for the stoppage, which is going on its tenth day, according to Automotive News. "Production ceased on Wednesday and we still don't know when it will resume," said a spokesperson for Fiat's Serbian operations.

When we saw a note about a recall for the Ford Focus Electric, our first reaction was, "is that a new one? Because it's getting hard to tell." This year, we've already seen the Blue Oval's all-electric hatch recalled for non-working door chimes and a "wiring incompatibility" in the headlights. The car is also reportedly under investigation by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration for the "Stop Safely Now" issue.

Flying cars aren't an everyday sighting, but they aren't as unheard of these days as yo might suspect. Some, like the Maverick flying car, are already available to the public, while others have been stuck in the development phase for years, like the Terrafugia Transition. And before the Transition can make it to market, another flying car will hit the scene: Skyrunner. That new flying machine makes its public debut at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show this week.

There are lots of ways to celebrate an important birthday, and all of them are well deserved. You can throw a big party, buy yourself something nice, or – if you're the altruistic type – do something for others in need. The latter is how Chrysler has opted to mark the 30th anniversary of its Dodge Grand Caravan and Chrysler Town & Country.

Acura has announced that it will be showing the production version of the RLX Sport Hybrid SH-AWD at the 2013 Los Angeles Auto Show. You'll recall that the standard 3.5-liter V6-powered RLX has been on sale for some time, and that our review of Acura's flagship sedan was mixed. On paper, at least, the RLX Sport Hybrid SH-AWD should fare better.

According to Edmunds, Chevrolet is recalling 18,941 Camaro models in the United States due to airbag warning stickers on the sun visors that may peel off. This might not seem like a big deal, but, as the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration puts it, "If the airbag warning label detaches from the visor, the driver and front seat passenger may not be warned of the risks of airbag deployment, increasing the risk of injury in the event of a crash."

US Automakers Lead Month After Gov't Shutdown

There was little doubt that the government shutdown, which occupied 16 days of an already-short month, put downward pressure on US auto sales during the month of September. If you weren't one of the 800,000 federal employees who were furloughed without pay during the crisis, you may have been one of many people who decided to put off large purchases like a car or truck until the US government got its act together and turned the lights back on. It seems those people and then some came back in Oct

Daredevils traveled 2,800 miles in 29 hours

A new record for fastest road trip across America was set on Wednesday when Ed Bolian, a Lamborghini dealer from Atlanta, and his team arrived in Redondo Beach, Calif. just 28 hours and 50 minutes after setting out from New York City.

Honda has just released its new Odyssey minivan for the Japanese Domestic Market, and it has plenty of style and room for up to eight people. Honda factory tuning company Mugen will also offer performance and styling parts for the fifth-generation minivan.

Mitsubishi has announced a trio of concept cars it will bring to the 2013 Tokyo Motor Show, set to kick off later this month. The three concepts all sport new, edgy styling that is quite a departure from the Mitsus we see here in the states.

Forza Motorsport 5 is set to come out on November 22 alongside the all-new Xbox One. As part of the launch lineup for a big new system, it shouldn't be a shock that Turn 10 Studios, the maker of the Forza series is going all out in promoting its new game. That's meant making interesting partnerships, like the one it enjoys with Top Gear.

The sales story of the two longest-running plug-in vehicles in the US is reaching an equilibrium for 2013. We've mentioned the past few months that the running annual totals for the Nissan Leaf and the Chevy Volt were nearly identical. As of the end of September, they were 16,760 for the Volt and 16,076 for the Leaf. The November numbers are now in, and the song remains mostly the same. Last month, the Volt sold 2,022 units and the Leaf moved 2,002. The new running totals? 18,782 (Volt) and 18,0

A Mighty Fine Crossover For The Global Set

When I first started in this whole automotive journalism biz, I held a sort of hodgepodge receptionist/gopher/production assistant role, and each morning as the staff filed in, I'd ask them how they liked whatever car they were assigned to drive the previous night. Most of my colleagues would regale me with anecdotes about how good or bad a vehicle was, but one co-worker, every single morning, would answer my query with the exact same phrase: "It was fine."

Drivers in the state of New York may be able to pick up the pace on the Empire State's roads if a bill from freshman Assemblyman Luis Sepulveda gets passed. Sepulveda submitted a bill that would see speed limits raised from 65 to 75 miles per hour, statewide.

Records, as the say, are made to be broken. Whether that's cramming the most hot dogs down your gullet, running a faster mile, or yes, driving across the United States, odds are that there's someone out there wants to eat more, run faster or drive harder. Speaking of that last example, the record for driving from a set location on the east coast, in particular the Red Ball Garage in Manhattan to the Portofino Hotel in Redondo Beach, CA, has been one that has fascinated gearheads since a guy name

Want to work your way up to Formula One? There are numerous feeder series you can start out with. Same goes for NASCAR, Indy, the World Rally Championship... just about every form of motorsport has its ladder to ascend. But Land Rover and its racing partner Bowler noticed a lack of a clear path up to rally-raid competitions like the Dakar Rally, and so they've teamed up to launch the new Defender Challenge.

Video shows how she could have hurt or killed a lot of people

Roaring through four different communities at more than 80 mph, veering over double yellow lines into oncoming traffic, 22-year-old Shifra Uzilov attempted to evade police -- all while her two toddlers sat in the back seat.

Japanese kei cars may be defined by their small size, but we know and love them more for their wacky shapes and names. And the all-new Daihatsu FC凸DECK nails all three. Heading for a debut in a few weeks at the Tokyo Motor Show, this diminutive concept grabbed our attention not only with its quasi cab-over semi-truck styling but also its snicker-worthy name, which includes a symbol resembling a stylized hand flipping the bird.
