Good news for owners of rusty Tacomas, Tundras, and Sequoias.
Toyota and Lexus will recall older trucks and SUVs, including the Land Cruiser, 4Runner, Tundra, Sequioa, LX470, and GX470, for inadvertent airbag deployment.
Toyota is recalling 6.5 million vehicles worldwide, including 2 million in the US, because the driver's side window power switch could overheat and cause a fire.
Toyota is expanding its Takata airbag inflator recall by an additional 1.37 million vehicles, including the 2003-2007 Corolla, Matrix, and Lexus SC430; the 2005-2006 Tundra; and the 2005-2007 Sequoia.

Was your Toyota inspected under the company's recall campaign for faulty airbag inflators last year? You might have another trip ahead to have it repaired again. The automotive giant says that it found "the involved serial numbers provided by the supplier were incomplete, and did not include all of the potentially involved inflators," according to its official announcement. That means more replacements are needed.
Most vehicle recalls that take place these days are a result of some problem that happens during the manufacturing process by the automaker, but as we see here, parts suppliers can also factor in to problematic safety issues. Automotive News is reporting that a total of 3.4 million vehicles produced by Japanese automakers between 2000 and 2004 are being recalled globally due to faulty airbags produced by an outside supplier, Takata Corp.
