It's that time of year again: time for automakers to roll out some wild custom versions of their family haulers to show what's possible with them. Ford has released preview images of five crossovers and SUVs that were each customized by aftermarket companies. They include the Ford EcoSport, Explorer, Expedition, and the 2019 Ford Edge ST, the latter of which may be the first customized example of Ford's first ST crossover. Check them all out below.

Tucci Designs 2018 Ford EcoSport

Tucci Designs lavished some love on Ford's littlest crossover, the EcoSport. The company did what it could to turn this Fiesta-based machine into something a bit more off-road worthy. It features the most powerful 2.0-liter naturally aspirated four-cylinder engine and adds an exhaust from Borla and Ford Performance. It sits on an adjustable coilover suspension that should help improve ground clearance. Under the 3D-printed fender flares are 255-mm wide all-terrain tires on 16-inch wheels. In case the going gets too rough, Tucci Designs also fitted a Warn winch. There are tube bumper additions for some extra protection and rugged looks, as well as a new rear diffuser.

Blood Type Racing 2019 Ford Edge ST

Chicago-based company Blood Type Racing selected the Edge ST as its canvas. For a company with the word "blood" in its name, it sure likes blue. Maybe the crew there is a fan of royalty. Whatever the case, this Edge ST features a slew of upgrades including a high-flow intake, upgraded intercooler and a dual exhaust system. Ford says it ups the horsepower, but doesn't give an actual estimate. Aside from the engine upgrades, Blood Type Racing added an air suspension to lower the Edge to the ground and tuck in the 22-inch wheels. The company also added wide flared fenders and mudflaps. Inside is an upgraded sound system and a carbon fiber steering wheel.

MAD Industries 2019 Ford Explorer

MAD Industries 2019 Ford Explorer

MAD Industries has created a Ford Explorer made for exploring twisty roads and possibly racetracks. It features the twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 with a cold-air intake, cat-back exhaust and a recalibrated throttle pedal to be more sensitive and aggressive. But perhaps more importantly for the sizable crossover is the Eibach suspension for better handling and the drilled and slotted Power Stop brakes. The Explorer rides on 24-inch wheels, and inside it has an upgraded audio system and custom leather and trim to match the exterior.

LGE*CTS 2018 Ford Expedition Classic

LGE CTS 2018 Ford Expedition Classic

LGE*CTS decided its Ford Expedition, like last year's, would be aimed at off-roading. It features the twin-turbo 3.5-liter V6 with just a cat-back exhaust. It has upgraded anti-roll bars and a suspension leveling kit. Everything sits atop 18-inch steel wheels with 285-mm wide mud-terrain tires. For a dash of style and practicality, it has off-road bumpers, a roof basket, a 20-inch light bar and a complete recovery kit for getting it or some other vehicle unstuck. The interior, like most of these other custom creations, features custom leather upholstery and an upgraded sound system.

Hulst Customs Destination Expedition

Rounding out the group is one more Ford Expedition. It features the same sort of engine setup as the LGE*CTS Expedition with the 3.5-liter engine and a cat-back exhaust. But this Expedition is meant for the street, evident by the 26-inch wheels. It's set off by its two-tone paint scheme with a number of custom exterior parts including the grille, hood, and a windshield visor with integrated lighting. It also has a snowboard rack, so even though it's not meant for off-roading, Hulst Customs clearly feels that snow won't be an issue for it.
