With today's solar eclipse blocking out the sun over Nissan's North American headquarters in Nashville, the automaker is celebrating the event by launching three Midnight Edition vehicles. This time around, it's all trucks, as the 2018 Titan, Titan XD and Frontier will all get the blacked-out treatment.

For the Titan, the Midnight Edition is available on the Crew Cab SV and SL in both 4x4 and 4x2 layouts. For the Titan XD, it's only available on the diesel version of the Crew Cab SV and SL 4x4. On the Titan and Titan XD, the package includes 20-inch black wheels, black grille, mirrors, door handles, badging, and step rails. It also features dark headlights, body color bumpers, charcoal interior trim, and available Midnight Edition floor mats. The package is available with Magnetic Black, Gun Metallic and Pearl White exterior colors.

For the Frontier, the Midnight Edition on the Crew Cab SV 4x2 and 4x4 with automatic transmission and Magnetic Black, Gun Metallic or Glacier White paint. It includes body color bumpers, a gloss black grille, gloss black 18-inch wheels, and black mirrors, door handles and badging. The Frontier offers available Midnight Edition floor mats, as well.

The Midnight Edition Titan, Titan XD and Frontier will be available in late fall of this year. Nissan hasn't announced pricing for the Midnight Edition trucks, but says the packages will provide a "significant discount" compared to purchasing the features separately.

Nissan will offer the Midnight Edition package on a total of nine of its 2018 models, the others being the Altima, Maxima, Murano, Pathfinder, Rogue and Sentra. Nissan says that its Midnight Edition vehicles usually sell about twice as fast as their standard counterparts, and that millennials are "especially attracted" to the blacked-out treatment.
