Techstars Mobility, an incubator that invests in startups building technologies and innovative business models focused on transportation, has
announced a number new partners for 2017.
AAA,
Bosch,
Next47 (
Siemens' independent investment arm), and
InMotion Ventures (Jaguar
Land Rover) are joining
Ford, Verizon,
Dana,
Honda, Munich Re, and
Michelin as Techstars Mobility's corporate partners. Also,
Mighty AI will open a Detroit office, operating it out of the Techstars Mobility Accelerator office.
Together, Techstars Mobility and its partners will help mobility entrepreneurs get their businesses off the ground in order to transform the future of mobility around the world. Over the last 18 months, Techstars has invested in 22 companies from around the world, which have raised $20 million and are valued at $100 million. Techstars Mobility will announce its third class of companies on July 17.
Mighty AI, Techstars' new officemate in Detroit, provides data for training computer vision and natural language algorithms, the former of which is fundamental to autonomous driving capabilities. Having an office in Michigan helps Mighty AI work with its customers in the state, but allows the company to mentor the incoming class of Techstars Mobility companies.
Techstars Mobility is a partner of Autoblog's 2017 UPSHIFT mobility conference in Detroit on October 19. Techstars Mobility Demo Day, an annual startup presentations and investor conference, takes place on Wednesday, October 18, at the Detroit Institute of the Arts. To bridge Demo Day and UPSHIFT Autoblog and Techstars will also co-host a reception the evening of October 18 that will be open to attendees of both conferences.
If you'd like to learn more or attend either or both events, sign up here.
Editor's Note: Autoblog is rescheduling UPSHIFT for 2018. We'll let you know more when we have all the details and can't wait to bring you the latest in mobility. It's going to be great. Meanwhile, we're still covering the Techstars Mobility Demo day Oct. 18 in Detroit, and our editors and staff will be attending the Techstars reception that night. We look forward to seeing you then.
