Last June, the History Channel canceled Top Gear USA, the Americanized version of the hugely popular BBC show. At the time, host Rutledge Wood said, "I'm not saying Top Gear USA is done, but it's done for the immediate future on History," Well, he was right. Top Gear USA is returning, though Wood and his fellow hosts Adam Ferrara and Tanner Foust are not.

An article from The Hollywood Reports states that the refreshed show will bring in actor William Fichtner, top-fuel drag racer Antron Brown, and British automotive journalist Tom "Wookie" Ford as the hosts of the new series.

When it returns later this year, the eight-episode season will be moving to BBC America to partner with the main UK iteration of Top Gear. The refresh follows the UK show's host overhaul in the wake of the departure of Chris Evans. The goal is to bring some British flair to what was, despite its roots, a distinctly American show. BBC America president and GM Sarah Barnett said, "Bill, Antron and Wookie are serious gear heads who never take themselves too seriously. It will be quite the trip."

Brown is a three-time NHRA top-fuel champion. Ford is an editor at Top Gear magazine in the UK. Though Fichtner may be best known for his acting roles, like so many others he spends his free time and money on cars. We just hope the trio gel slightly better than Chris Evans and Matt LeBlanc.
