Nissan completes the Titan lineup with the 2017 King Cab

At the 2017 Chicago auto show, Nissan has finally rounded out the cab configurations for the 2017 Nissan Titan. While only four-door and single-cab models were available before, the new Nissan King Cab joins the lineup of those who want a longer bed and more room inside the cab for people and stuff. The King Cab style will be available on both half-ton Titans and on the Titan XD.

The new cab offers seating for up to six with the available front bench seat, and the standard rear bench seat. The latter is accessible by half doors on either side, and has seat bottoms that fold upward and are split 60/40. Underneath the seats is extra storage underneath. Nissan also offers the option of deleting the rear seat entirely, for people that need more lockable, covered cargo space. As for outdoor cargo space, all Titan King Cabs come with a 6.5-foot bed.

As for what powers King Cab Titans, the half-ton is only available with the 5.6-liter 390-horsepower gasoline V8. The XD is available with that engine or the 5.0-liter Cummins diesel V8 that makes 310 horsepower and 555 lb-ft of torque. Regardless of the truck's size, the gas engine is coupled to a 7-speed automatic, while the Cummins is hooked up to a 6-speed auto.

The King Cab also has payload and tow ratings similar to the single-cab and four-door, though it comes up a bit shy of the single-cab version. The maximum towing capacity for the half-ton is 9,410 pounds, and maximum payload is 1,640. With the XD, maximum towing comes from the diesel XD at 12,510 pounds, and the gas model has the maximum payload of 2,710. Depending on how your Titan is equipped, though, these numbers could be lower.

Nissan says the Titan King Cab will arrive in US dealers this spring, but it has yet to announce pricing.
