Ever since the launch of Sync, Ford knew it needed to improve its infotainment game. The company's previous efforts have been lackluster at best and frustratingly slow at worst. Ford's latest infotainment system, Sync 3, is a huge step forward in terms of usability. Starting with the 2017 model year, Ford is making Sync 3 available on every car, SUV, EV, and light truck in their lineup.

This is a boon for those looking for Apple CarPlay or Android Auto equipped vehicles. Sync 3 has full integration of both systems, as well as Ford's proprietary user interface. When we tested the system last year, we knocked it for its rudimentary appearance compared to the outgoing system, but the speed and simplicity more than made up for it.

Ford is one of the first automakers to make a system like this available across their entire lineup. While there are no details yet on how much the upgrade to Sync 3 will cost, expect pricing as new 2017 vehicles start to roll into dealer lots.
