Ken Block's new rallycross Focus RS looks ready for hooning

/
Ford has an even more hardcore Focus RS in the works: It's the racing version that Ken Block will be driving in the FIA Global Rallycross Championship this season. And the Gymkhana star is giving us a taste of things to come with a few juicy teasers.

Posted on his Instagram feed is a series of preview photos and renderings showing Block's new 600-horsepower chariot. It strikes an even meaner pose than the road-going Focus RS with extra wings, vents, and carbon-fiber body panels.

At its heart sits a 2.0-liter EcoBoost four good for 600 horses and 664 pound-feet of torque. With all that juice, the RX RS is said to reach 60 in under two seconds. No wonder the FIA classifies these machines as Supercars.

It strikes us as a suitable ride, in short, for the all-American stuntmaster used to driving extreme Blue Oval machinery like the F-150 RaptorTrax, '65 Mustang Hoonicorn, and Fiesta WRC. And it looks like Block and his teammate Andreas Bakkerud will need to squeeze every last drop out of it to beat the likes of Mattias Ekström in the Audi S1, Sebastien Loeb in the Peugeot 208, and defending champion Petter Solberg in the Citroën DS3.
