Leno invites Ford engineer Jamal Hameedi for an expert walkthrough around the GT350R. According to Hameedi, Ford used the 4.5-liter V8 in the Ferrari 458 Italia as a benchmark for the GT350's flatplane-crank V8, but when the engineering team weighed the final version, the Mustang's 5.2-liter was 13 pounds lighter than the smaller engine in the other prancing horse.
Once the guys hit the road, Leno says the engine sounds like a symphony. In fact, he wants to know why every V8 can't have a flatplane crank. After a few pulls on the freeway, Leno and Hameedi eventually arrive on some twisty roads where the Mustang proves to be a fantastic driver's car. It's safe to say after watching this clip that Leno doesn't have any buyer's remorse after getting the GT350R.
