BRANDON TURKUS: Hey Autoblog. This is associate editor Brandon Turkus. I'm here with the 2016 Honda Pilot. I'm going to show you a new feature coming to the Pilot's Sirius XM satellite radio system that's going to make your life behind the wheel a lot more bearable.

We've all had that situation where we change the radio station only to find that our favorite song is about to end. It's really, really annoying, and you just kind of wish, I wish I had changed the station a few, few minutes ago. You don't have to deal with that here. Because as soon as you turn this car on, any station that is loaded up on one of your presets starts buffering. So there's a backlog of music already downloaded waiting for you to play.

So if I'm on Deep Tracks right now and I want to change to Classic Rewind, I can hit that, and while it's playing live music right now I could hit Skip Back. I don't want to listen to Heart, I can go back and Stevie Ray Vaughan is on. I don't want to listen to him, there's Bob Seger, there's Bon Jovi, another commercial, Kansas, and it goes on quite a way back. In fact, I haven't really played around to see just how far back we can go, but I've had this car running for a little while now, and you can see we've got almost an hour. Yeah, we've got almost an hour of music backed up on here. And that's for all of the presets.

The other cool thing that you can do is create your own station. And we've all done this on, you know, the Pandoras and the Spotifys and whatnot. But this allows you to do it with Sirius XM stations. And all you have to do is find the station you want, then find the station you want to combine it with. So say I want to combine Classic Rewind and Deep Tracks. I'll hold down Deep Tracks. It will give me this little brief for Tune Mix is the official name of it. And explains you can combine the station or you can replace the station. I want to combine. And it pops up as Mix 2. Now I will get music from both stations.

So if we skip back, actually let's skip back forward. So Steely Dan. That wasn't on Classic Rewind before. That was on Deep Tracks. It goes on, and it's just a nice way to blend different kinds of music that you want to listen to so you don't have to, you know, mess with it while you're on the go. It's, it's a really cool feature. I expect since this is a Sirius XM system and not necessarily a Honda system I expect this to really find its way into new models as time goes on.

If you like it, check it out. Watch the video again. Let us know what you think down in comments and have a great day.
