[00:00:00] I'm Eddie Sabatini and this is your Autoblog Minute year in review for Kia.

The 2017 Kia Sportage has more interior space and, according to the automaker, will be more fuel efficient than previous models. There are two powertrain options for the latest gen crossover: a 2.4-liter four-cylinder with 181 horsepower and 175 pound-feet of torque, and a 2.0-liter turbo with impressive figures of 241 hp and 260 lb-ft. A six-speed automatic transmission is standard across the board, with available all-wheel-drive.

The Kia Optima is also new for 2016. The fourth generation crossover will be available with two powerplants from the previous generation, the 2.4-liter GDI four-cylinder, (available on the LX and EX models), and the 2.0-liter GDI turbo engine, (available on the SXL and SX Turbo models.) And there's one new powertrain option for 2016. A 1.6-liter turbo four cylinder.

The third generation Sorento went on sale. The 2016 Sorento has been upgrade from its styling to its driving dynamics. Customers have three engines to choose from in this latest gen crossover: a carryover 2.4-liter four-cylinder in the entry-level model. A meatier V6 – good for 290 hp and 252 lb-ft – will come on three-row models only, and a new 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder option, good for 240 horses and 260 lb-ft available exclusively on two-row models.

And those are highlights from Kia's year in review. For Autoblog, I'm Eddie Sabatini
