On September 9, actress Scarlett Johansson and SpaceX and Tesla Motors CEO Elon Musk will appear, with Kendrick Lamar performing and being interviewed. The guest list for September 10 is Uber CEO Travis Kalanick with musical guest Toby Keith. On September 11, comedian Amy Schumer and author Stephen King will be on the show, with Troubled Waters performing and being interviewed. What's interesting from a green car news perspective is that Musk will be appearing the day after the next-gen Toyota Prius is revealed in Las Vegas.
Back in 2010, Musk appeared on Colbert's Comedy Central show, The Colbert Report. The two talked about Tesla, SpaceX and if Musk was a super hero or a super villain. Good times.
Musk is not stranger to the world of popular culture, sometimes serving as a punchline for jokes about his efforts to get people to Mars or other aspects of his forward-thinking companies. He was also one of the inspirations for the Marvel Cinematic Universe version of Tony Stark/Iron Man, played by Robert Downey Jr. Musk even had a cameo in Iron Man 2.
The biography of Musk written by Ashley Vance, Elon Musk: Tesla, SpaceX, and the Quest for a Fantastic Future, remains a best-seller.
