Some of the most enduring gags on Top Gear have been the introductions of everyone's favorite tame racing driver, The Stig. Over the years, all sorts of rumors have been put forth, including absurdities like the Stig's proclivity for facing magnetic north, his fear of ducks, and his aggression towards both horses and France.

For that, you'll want to head over to the always-funny Sniff Petrol, a satirical site ran by Top Gear script editor Richard Porter. Porter, along with hosts Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond, and James May, wrote the scripts for the long-running show. He reveals not only how the "Some say..." line developed, but how it contributed to the Stig's personality, which he describes as "a mix of Kimi Raikkonen, the keyboard player from Pet Shop Boys, and a 15-year-old boy forced to go on holiday with his parents."

Head over to Sniff Petrol for a look.
